TAS June / July 2005: Montreal FSI 2005 show report - Robert Harley

"The sound was extremely quick, clean and precise without sounding analytical. The (Eben) X - Centric also had surprising bass weight and extension. Although $9200 may sound steep for a stand mounted two way the X - Centric listening experience was special indeed. Part of this overall performance was no doubt contributed by the new Chapter Preface Plus Preamplifier and Couplet Power amplifier from England's Chapter Electronics Ltd. (See future TAS this issue)"

Stereophile June 2005: Montreal FSI show report - Robert Deutsch

A line of audio electronics I hadn't heard of before was Chapter. Whose product literature claims that it is "The British High End audio manufacturer."

I guess that Linn, Meridian, Chord, Musical Fidelity, etc. don't quite cut it. However, I 'will' say that the Eben X-Baby speakers sounded very good indeed driven by the Chapter Preface Plus pre-amp (US$9500) and Couplet power amp (US $12000).

Enjoy the Music.com: Montreal FSI 2005 show Report - Phil Gold

An Electrocompaniet CD player feeds Mike Gregory's Chapter Preface preamp ($9,500 US) and the new Chapter Couplet power amp ($12,000 US), using prototype Chapter cables. Chapter Audio impressed me at the CES this year with their Précis integrated amplifier ($6,000), and contributed to another excellent sounding room here in Montreal. You have to love a company whose high end range is the Hardback series and whose cheaper range (which includes the Précis) is the Paperback series.

Stereophile May 2005: CES2005 Show Report - Larry Greenhill

Chapter's slim Précis integrated amplifier ($6000), built in Kent England, is rated at 125 Wpc into 8 ohms and has a power supply with a rated energy storage of 1080 Joules. It produced open, transparent sonics from pure white Morel two - way monitors

Hi-Fi Choice April 2005: CES 2005 show report - Alvin Gold

One of the most unlikely stars of the show, if not exactly one of the best looking, was the Israeli made Octave from Morel, an astonishing tour de force that's sure to make listeners sit up and take notice. The Octave was driven by Chapter upcoming Précis Integrated amplifier.
